Safety First!
Before you can explore trails and adventure into the woods, you need to remember the most important rule of off-roading: Safety First! Off-roading can be tons of fun, but it can also be dangerous if you’re not careful. That’s why explorers always prepare before heading out.
always be safe when you are around motor vehicles
Safety Gear is Adventure Armor
When you ride an ATV, dirt bike, or any off-road vehicle, you should always wear the right gear:
Helmet
Protects your head (the most important gear of all).
Seatbelt
In Jeeps, Broncos or trucks, always buckle up tight.
Gloves and boots
Keep your hands and feet safe.
Goggles
Protect your eyes from dust, mud, and branches.
Think of safety gear like a superhero’s outfit — it keeps you strong and ready for action.
Explorers know that adventures are safer (and more fun!) with others. If something goes wrong, like a vehicle gets stuck, your group can work together to solve the problem. That’s why you should always go with a grown-up and never explore trails by yourself.
Be Prepared!
Before going off-road, you and your grown-up should pack the basics:
Vehicles should also be checked: Are the tires filled? Do the brakes work? Is there enough fuel? A quick check can prevent a big problem later.
